Coming home from vacay is always tough…especially coming home from your favorite place! For me, that’s the Mauna Kea in Hawaii – my family has been visiting ever since I can remember, and I wholeheartedly love this special place. I can’t wait to go back next summer and I’m already counting down the days until I’m back! Today I’m so excited to be sharing a look at our trip – what I wore, where we stayed, what we ate & what we did!
where we stayed:
Over the years, my family has both stayed at the Mauna Kea resort, and rented a home on property. The resort is absolutely gorgeous, though we prefer staying in a home – we can cook our own meals if needed, have more space, have a washer/dryer and also get to stay with my grandparents which is my favorite part! We stay in the estates for reference. Also, if you rent a home you have access to anything at the resort that a hotel guest does. Find out how to rent a home on property here.
what I packed:
I’m definitely not a light packer, I like to have plenty of options and different pieces to mix and match – I always have the heaviest suitcase in the family! I’ve gone to Hawaii consistently since I was little so I know exactly what I need to pack and what I wear while visiting. I’ve linked my Hawaii wardrobe below:
what we did:
Personally, when I’m in Hawaii I like to get to the beach super early and spend the whole day there. I usually walk and do a quick workouts the morning with my dad! The Mauna Kea beach is perfect. There are chairs and towels set up for all guests and the beach is big enough for everyone. There are huge inflatable rafts a few hundred yards out that people like to swim to. I swam out pretty much everyday, and it was really fun being able to make friends and meet other kids! I met people from South Carolina, NYC, LA & Napa! It’s so cool to talk to people and make connections like that.
