Hello! I’m sure at one point or another we’ve all been at home due to quarantine of lockdowns. With cases rising and things being shut down again, my school has transitioned to full virtual for the time being. Having been full virtual for nearly 2 semesters, I’ve definitely picked up some tips and tricks to stay productive at home, learned what my “must haves” are when working from home and gotten used to this interesting experience! It may not be the ideal situation, but we just have to make the best out of the worst and remember that this is not forever!
My WFH Essentials:
- take breaks – if you have time in between calls or classes, get up and walk around, make a cup of tea, go on your phone or just focus on your breathing.
- get dressed – even if it’s pajamas on the bottom and business on the top or workout clothes, getting dressed and taking pride in how you look will boost your confidence, help you to get more done during the day and makes you look professional on Zoom!
- have a set place to do your work – I am fortunate enough to have a desk in my room, but sometimes I will work from one of my parent’s offices, from the couch, the backyard, or even the kitchen table just to get a change of scenery. I like to do my homework from the desk, but if I don’t have a Zoom call and I have work to get done I usually go somewhere else.
