Hi everyone – welcome back to my blog. I’m not sure what day this post will be up, but I’m so excited to share with you today! My family usually travels quite frequently, but I haven’t been on a plane since February (I traveled to Georgetown, DC with some of my classmates for a Model UN conference). We’ve taken a trip to our house in La Quinta, and a lake trip with close family friends, but we haven’t actually traveled by plane, stayed in a hotel or eaten out while on vacation in months. Travel obviously looks different during a pandemic, but there are still ways to enjoy your vacation while being safe, cautious and courteous.
My mom, Mamie, sister and I are headed to Dallas in September to visit some colleges in the area. We were supposed to have gone in March and then meet up with some good family friends, but we postponed our trip because of Covid. We figured that now is the perfect time to go because cases haven’t been spiking, plus students will be on campus when we visit which is important.
I’ve never been to Dallas before, but I’m so excited to visit! I was very much looking forward to our trip in March, and I’m so happy we were able to reschedule. If you know any good restaurants, places to visit or good picture locations, feel free to reach out to me on Instagram – I’d love to hear from you!
Personally, I’m a bit nervous at the thought of flying right now – but I know the airplane will be cleaned (we booked an early morning flight so we are the first people on the plane after the nighttime cleaning) & I’ll be wearing a mask the entire time. The flight to Dallas is between 2.5 – 3 hours, so it’s super easy & quick!
As I mentioned earlier, I’m a frequent traveler and so I’ve gotten a good routine down – I know what to pack in my carry on tote and I’m used to being in airports – I’ve traveled without my parents multiple times and so I’ve learned a few tricks along the way! Ok, so now that I’ve talked all about the boring stuff, here comes the fun part – my travel essentials!
If you’ve made it this far in the post, congratulations 👏🏼 I hope you enjoyed hearing all about my travel tips, experiences, essentials and more! I’ve linked everything on this page, but you can also find it by following me on LIKEtoKNOW.it app, or DMing me on Instagram. Remember, if you have any cool places, restaurants, activities or things I should do while I’m Dallas, feel free to reach out!
