Happy Saturday everyone! Welcome back to my blog. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 is *almost* in full swing – the sale is currently open for some cardholders, and other cardholders have the opportunity to shop this week. The sale opens for everyone on August 19!
If you haven’t already shopped the sale, it’s really good this year! I think this is one of the first years that I’ve found so many things that I like – I never really find anything at the sale. If you haven’t seen my Nordstrom Sale Picks blog post, make sure to check that out. I linked almost 100 of my favorites – shoes, loungewear, dresses, denim, accessories, beauty & more!
The anniversary sale always has great deals, but there are still pieces that even having been marked down, they are not in everyone’s budget. I love finding similar items at more budget friendly prices. Just because you buy something similar elsewhere doesn’t mean it’s any less of quality, style or “worse” than the original. In fact, some of the pieces I’m about to share are actually more attractive to me than the original!
Let’s jump in!

- Michele Watch
I love a good classic watch, and this Michele watch has been on my wishlist for a while now. At over $2000, it’s not in my budget right now. I found this nearly identical Kate Spade watch that has the same clean, classic & streamlined design that I love, but it’s almost 1/10 of the price!
2. Quilted Barbour Jacket
Barbour jackets are classic, traditional and timeless – they will never go out of style and they last for many years! I don’t currently own one, but I have had my eye on this one for a while now! When I saw the pricetag, I knew that I could find something similar for less, and I came across this quilted Kate Spade jacket! It’s under $130, plus you can use the code “WEEKEND” to take 20% off orders over $100. Using the sale code, the jacket is $99! Don’t walk – RUN!
3. Tory Burch Sneakers
White sneakers are a staple shoe, no matter what your personal style is. They can be worn throughout the year and they go with nearly everything! When I spotted these colorful Tory Burch sneakers, I fell in love with the simple yet unique design. At almost $140, they are still an investment piece. After realizing that they may not be the most versatile sneakers, especially for the price, I found these Gola for J.Crew sneakers which I become more obsessed with each time I see them! The gold detailing is so classic and they are under $70!
4. Akris Punto Drop waist Polka Dot Shift
I’m a sucker for easy, breezy dresses that I can wear into fall, and this polka dot shift caught my eye the second I saw it – it’s such a classic and I love the black & white! At almost $800, it’s not in my back to school budget. I saw this polka dot midi dress from Target and I loved it! I don’t really buy clothes from Target, but this dress really reminds me of something from J.Crew – it would be a perfect work from home peice!
5. L’AGENCE Chamberlin Blazer
There’s something about a camel blazer – it’s such a classic workwear piece that can be worn away from the office too. I think that having a structured blazer should be a staple in every woman’s wardrobe – it’s functional, fashionable and oh so chic! This camel blazer from Nordstrom has such a classic & clean cut which I think is just so flattering! Since it’s definitely an investment piece, I decided to look for a less expensive alternative, without sacrificing quality. My mom has this J.Crew blazer in both navy and black, and I’m sure the camel is lovely in person! I’ve worn both navy and black to Model UN conferences, and I even took the black one on my trip to Georgetown last winter – it travels well and is so flattering.
6. Gucci Sunglasses
I usually lean toward tortoiseshell glasses, but something about a classic pair of black glasses can just freshen up an outfit so much! This pair of Gucci sunglasses are so gorgeous – I love the simple design and the slight cat eye lense. At almost $250. they arent in my budget right now – plus I don’t always love spending lots of money on sunglasses because what if they break or get lost? This pair of sunglasses from J.Crew is so similar to the Gucci pair, but it’s about 1/4 of the price. I love finding similar pieces for less!
7. Clare V. Mini Suede Bag
Leopard has always been one of my favorite prints (the blog name) and I think it is such a neutral in the fall and winter. This leopard crossbody is an absolute DREAM – it’s such an fun yet usable piece for fall and winter. It’s not something that going to sit in the back of your closet. It’s a bit more expensive than I would like, so I found this nearly identical bag from J.Crew – plus, the black leather strap makes it a dressier piece! The dimensions on the J.Crew bag are bigger too, so it’s a roomier purse without being too big.
Sorry for the long post – I just had to share this pieces with you all!! Thank you for reading.
